Abstract

The Rahmatan lil 'Alamin Student Profile (PPRA) introduced in the Merdeka Curriculum for madrasah aims to shape moderate, civil, and tolerant students, yet studies have mostly examined it through project-based activities or subject learning rather than through a madrasah's own whole-school character programme. This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Grow With Character programme in strengthening PPRA at MTs Bahrul Ulum Tajinan, Malang. It employed a qualitative case study design using observation, interviews with the head, vice principals, and students, and documentation, with interactive analysis and triangulation. The programme is planned at the beginning of the academic year in daily, weekly, monthly, semester, and annual cycles. It is implemented through three tracks: orientation (MATSAMA and MOK), classroom procedures, and habituation organised around love for Allah, teachers, oneself, and the environment. Evaluation is tiered from duty teachers to the class promotion meeting, using grades, orderliness, and worship as promotion criteria. The programme embodies civility, role modelling, citizenship, and tolerance, but its evaluation relies heavily on violation points, suggesting the need for a more restorative approach consistent with the spirit of rahmah.
