Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Structure of the Manuscript
- Title. The title should be concise, specific, and informative, with a maximum of 15 words. It must reflect the core issue of the study, avoid uncommon abbreviations, and place the main idea at the beginning.
- Authors’ Names and Affiliations. Write the authors’ full names without academic degrees or positions, followed by the institution, institutional address, and email address. Mark the corresponding author with an asterisk (*).
- Abstract. The abstract is written in one paragraph of 150–250 words, in both Indonesian and English. It should briefly present, without subheadings: (1) the background and research problem; (2) the purpose of the study; (3) the methods or theoretical framework used; (4) the main findings; and (5) the conclusions and implications.
- Keywords. Provide 3–5 keywords or phrases separated by semicolons. Choose terms that are specific and relevant to the article so it can be easily found by search engines.
- Introduction. The introduction explains the background of the problem and why the study matters. It should review relevant previous studies, identify the research gap, state the novelty of the study, and close with the research objectives. In-text citations follow the APA style, for example (Antonio, 2001), (Hasan & Rahman, 2020), (Ascarya et al., 2022), or Chapra (2008). Define technical terms and abbreviations the first time they appear.
- Research Method. This section describes the research approach, the subject or object of the study, data sources, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques. For qualitative studies, explain how data validity was ensured; for quantitative studies, state the population, sample, variables, and analytical tools used.
- Results and Discussion. Present findings supported by adequate data, in the form of narrative, tables, or figures. Each finding should answer the research objectives stated in the introduction. Subheadings may be used where needed.
The discussion should address the following questions: What do the findings show in relation to the research objectives? Why do the findings appear this way, and what is their scientific interpretation? How do the findings compare with previous studies, whether consistent or different? What are the theoretical and practical implications, especially for the development of Islamic economics? - Conclusion. The conclusion answers the research objectives in paragraph form. It should not simply repeat the results or the abstract. It should also state the limitations of the study and offer suggestions for future research.
- References. List only the sources cited in the article. References must be managed using reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero to avoid typing errors and duplication. Include at least 25 references, of which at least 80% should be primary sources (journal articles, proceedings, or research reports) published within the last 10 years. References follow the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition style, with DOIs included wherever available.
- Qur’anic Verses, Hadith, and Transliteration. Qur’anic verses and hadith are written in Arabic script with their translation, citing the surah and verse number or the hadith source. Arabic-Latin transliteration follows the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs and the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 158/1987 and 0543b/U/1987.
